Set up your recurring group once, and GroupThat handles the rest — invites, RSVPs, reminders, and all the back-and-forth you'd rather not deal with.
If you're the one texting the group chat "who's in this week?" every single week — this is for you. Sports, game nights, book clubs, running crews, leadership meetups, you name it.
Yes — everyone needs a GroupThat account, organizers and participants alike. The one exception: if someone already in a meetup taps the "+" next to their "I'm In" button to bring a guest, that guest can join without signing up.
Yes — GroupThat is completely free. Create unlimited groups, invite unlimited members and guests, and use every feature at no cost.
Setting Up a Group
GroupThat is built for groups that meet regularly — every meetup belongs to a group. If it's a one-time thing, it might not be the right fit. But if you've got people you meet with more than once, you're in the right place.
Tap the "New Group" plus button, fill in the basics (name, location, time, frequency), add your members, and you're done. Seriously, that's it.
Weekly, biweekly, monthly, or custom intervals — pick your day, set your time, and it just keeps going.
Absolutely. Create as many as you need, each with its own member list, schedule, and settings.
Anytime. Change the time, location, or member list, and choose to update just the next occurrence or all future meetups.
Update it for that specific occurrence — your default stays untouched, and members get notified automatically.
Inviting Members
Add members by phone number or email when setting up your group. They'll get an invite right away — no chasing required.
Your call. Enable a shareable link so members can bring friends, or keep it invite-only.
Nope — there's no member limit. Add as many members and guests to your groups as you like.
Each group has a dedicated chat where all members can post information, pictures, and pre/post meetup conversation and banter.
RSVPs & Attendance
Before each meetup, GroupThat automatically messages everyone asking if they're in or out. Members respond directly — quick and painless.
You set the timing. Send the first nudge a few days out, and add a follow-up for anyone who hasn't responded yet.
Send them an automatic follow-up, or set a deadline after which they're marked "out." You decide what fits your group.
They're automatically muted from meetup messages until the next cycle — no noise, no guilt.
Yes, right up until the meetup. You'll see the update in real time on your dashboard.
Yep — your dashboard shows exactly who's in, who's out, and who's still ghosting you.
Messaging & Notifications
Invites, RSVP requests, reminders, change alerts, and post-meetup wrap-ups. You control which ones fire and when.
Yes. Edit the default templates to sound like you — casual, formal, or somewhere in between.
Navigating the App
Simple and clean — just three pages: Home — all your upcoming meetup invitations in one place. Groups — every group you're part of, with access to each group's chat and settings. Profile — add your photo and keep your personal info up to date.
Head to the "Groups" tab, find your group, and tap into the chat. Each group has its own conversation separate from the RSVP flow.
From the Groups tab, tap the group you administer — you'll see options to edit details, manage members, and adjust the meetup schedule.
